About the studio
CDS is the London design studio of Chefman, the US company behind Chefman and CHEF iQ kitchen products. From Hackney Downs, a small team leads industrial design, branding, packaging, photography and content for products sold worldwide.
The studio is growing. More people, more shoots, and a move to a larger space with a full content studio and prep kitchen. We need someone to run it.
The role
You'll be the person who makes the studio work — reporting directly to our SVP of Design, working alongside our US operations and HR teams. Some of it is daily rhythm. Some of it is building something that doesn't exist yet.
- Run the studio day to day: the space, supplies, kit, couriers, visitors
- Manage product sample logistics — shipments from factories, customs, knowing what's where
- Own the practical side of our studio move: viewings, landlords, contractors, fit-out coordination
- Coordinate hiring for London roles: scheduling, recruiters, keeping candidates warm and searches moving
- Onboard freelancers and contractors; keep contracts and invoices moving with our US team
- Support shoots and studio production as our content team grows
- Solve the problem nobody saw coming — there's always one
You
- You've run a studio before. Design studio, agency, photo or production studio, architecture practice, gallery — you know what this job actually is.
- Organised without being precious about it. You build just enough structure and no more.
- Good with people: landlords, couriers, candidates, designers on deadline.
- Comfortable being the only operations person in the room, with the initiative that comes with it.
