Job Description

Mid-Senior Designer – Creative Agency (Cheshire)

We’re a fun, friendly, close-knit, high-impact agency in Cheshire, working with household brands that people know and trust. As long-standing partners of Gorilla Glue, O'Keeffe's, John West, Wall's, Sharpie, WD-40 and more, we deliver a full-service offering that spans brand strategy, TV, POS, and every touchpoint in between.

The Role

We’re looking for an ideas-driven designer with solid experience and a portfolio that demonstrates compelling, high-quality, detail-focused work. This is a role for someone who can spark creativity across major campaigns while guiding and mentoring emerging design talent in others.

The ideal candidate thrives in a small-team environment, brings a strong creative vision, and has the organisational skills to manage multiple projects and deadlines, contributing to the smooth running of the agency.

Whether you’re a talented middleweight ready to step up or a senior designer seeking a fresh challenge, we’re open to the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead creative direction on key projects, shaping concepts and guiding visual solutions.
  • Deliver high-quality design execution across all outputs, from research and prototyping to final delivery across print and digital.
  • Maintain and elevate design standards across the team, ensuring consistency and quality throughout projects
  • Mentor and guide junior designers, fostering growth and development without formal line-management responsibility
  • Communicate effectively with clients and internal teams to ensure clarity and alignment
  • Maintain strong relationships with external partners, ensuring expectations, feedback, and delivery are aligned
  • Brief and oversee additional resources, including freelancers and wider team members, to support project delivery

Skills & Experience

  • 5+ years studio experience, ideally with FMCG branding and packaging
  • Comprehensive understanding of design principles – typography, layout, grids, and pixel-perfect execution
  • Expert-level proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop; After Effects a plus)
  • Proven ability to take initiative, solve problems methodically, and work independently
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating creative flair and technical excellence
  • Keen eye for detail, with work rooted in strategic intent and aligned to the brief
  • Consistent application of brand guidelines, including typography, layout, colour, and brand assets
  • Ability to incorporate client feedback thoughtfully, balancing creative ambition with client needs
  • Proactive approach to AI tools and new technologies, experimenting with innovative ways to produce and improve content

Interpersonal Skills

  • Engaged team player who actively shares knowledge and contributes to studio culture
  • Self-motivated and proactive, taking ownership of projects
  • Confident, approachable, and able to build strong working relationships
  • Open to feedback and able to use it constructively to benefit both projects and the team.
  • Collaborative, championing both your ideas and those of the wider team
  • Experienced in working closely with other creatives, copywriters, account managers, and directly with clients
  • Sociable, easygoing, and able to thrive under pressure in a fast-paced environment

What We Offer You

  • A friendly, creative team who love what they do
  • Opportunity to work across a wide range of projects and design styles
  • Team parties and outings, plus regular studio treats
  • Competitive holiday allowance, including extra days off over Christmas
  • 5 days per week in the office, with the option to work from home every other Friday
  • Private healthcare with WPA
  • Pension plan
