East End Press is a design studio based in Glasgow, creating beautiful, sustainable and joyful homeware, stationery and decorations that are screen printed by hand on recycled cotton paper in Jaipur, India. Our growing range of products, including our best selling printed sewn garlands, greetings cards and more, is stocked in over 1,000 locations around the world as well as selling directly through our website and brick and mortar store in the west end.
Job Overview
We’re looking for a creative and enthusiastic Marketing Intern to gain hands-on experience across digital marketing, e-commerce, and content creation within East End Press. You’ll support campaigns across social media, email, website, and paid channels, helping to grow our online presence, promote our products, and maintain our brand identity.
The ideal candidate is organised, curious, detail-focused, and passionate about sustainable design, independent brands and creating engaging content.
Key Responsibilities
Content & Social Media:
- Help create and schedule engaging content for social media and marketing campaigns
- Support the development of marketing materials, blogs, and promotional content
- Assemble PR packages and source props for photoshoots
E-commerce & Website:
- Support the management and optimisation of Shopify product listings
- Assist with website updates, content uploads, and promotional activities
- Campaigns & Analytics
- Assist in planning and executing campaigns across email, social, paid advertising, and website
- Assist with email marketing campaigns, including content creation, scheduling, and performance analysis
- Monitor and report on campaign performance using Google Analytics and platform dashboards
- Conduct market and competitor research to identify trends, opportunities, and customer insights
Brand & Admin:
- Help maintain brand consistency across all digital channels
- Provide general administrative support to the marketing team
Essential Skills and Experience
Interest in digital marketing, e-commerce, and online retail, evidenced through study, work experience, or personal projects
Strong written communication skills, with the ability to adapt tone of voice for different channels including social, email, and web
Confident verbal communication skills for liaising with internal teams and external partners
Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast paced environment
High attention to detail, particularly when uploading content, checking copy, and formatting listings
Working knowledge of Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and Pinterest from a business or content creation perspective
Confident using Google Workspace, including Docs, Sheets, Slides, and Gmail for day to day tasks
Comfortable working independently on assigned tasks while collaborating as part of a small team
Proactive, can-do attitude with willingness to take initiative and suggest ideas
Desirable Skills and Experience
Hands on experience managing a business or personal social media account, including content planning and posting schedules
Experience running or supporting online promotions, discount codes, or seasonal campaigns
Familiarity with Shopify specifically, or comparable platforms such as WooCommerce
Basic understanding of SEO principles such as keywords, meta descriptions, and on page optimisation
Exposure to Klaviyo or similar email marketing platforms, including list segmentation, automated flows, and campaign builds
Working knowledge of digital advertising basics such as Meta Ads, Google Ads, or Pinterest Ads
Practical skills in Canva for social graphics, and/or Adobe Creative Suite including Photoshop, Illustrator, and Premiere
Video editing experience using CapCut or similar tools for short form content such as Reels and TikToks
Experience gained through freelance work, volunteering, a personal blog or social page, online selling, or a placement year
Basic reporting skills using Google Analytics or platform native dashboards such as Meta Business Suite or Shopify Analytics
Location: On-site at our Glasgow office (19 Woodside Place, Glasgow G3 7QL)
Contract: 16 FTC: 3 days per week, with the potential for extension
Rate: £27,000 pro-rata, reviewed at end of FTC
