ABOUT US

Deadgood is a design-led British brand that creates furniture, lighting, and interior accessories for commercial environments. We work with some of the most forward-thinking interior designers and architects on high end commercial interiors worldwide. Our Rugs division offers a high-end, custom service that bridges digital art and physical interiors through innovative digital printing on premium materials.

Deadgood is a team that supports, nurtures, and inspires one another to keep design at the vanguard of the UK scene. We are ethically and environmentally awake; we manufacture over 90% of our products in the UK and are committed to being "Deadgood for the planet."

ROLE OVERVIEW

We are seeking a detail-oriented and creatively versatile Designer to join our fast-paced production team. This is a high-output role where you will work closely with our Sales and Production departments to translate creative briefs into polished client proposals and technically precise, print-ready artwork.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Proactive Communication: Ability to unpack briefs immediately and flag all questions upfront to avoid mid-process uncertainty and maintain a high production pace.

Rapid Concepting: Produce 2–3 genuinely distinct creative directions per client request within tight timeframes.

Technical Artworking: Convert signed-off designs into high-precision, print-ready files using specific technical standards and colour swatch system.

In-House Development: Support the Design Director in exploring and resolving new directions for our internal collections.

File Management: Manage and upload all daily workings and final artwork to cloud systems daily - rigorous file hygiene is non-negotiable.

Daily Alignment: Participate in morning briefings, midday check-ins, and end-of-day reviews to ensure project expectations are met.

SKILLS

Adobe Suite Expert: High proficiency in Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign is essential.

Creative Versatility: Strong illustration and pattern design skills with the ability to flex between diverse styles.

Trend Insight: A sharp eye for emerging interior and textile trends with the ability to proactively suggest fresh, applicable ideas and commercially clear design directions for our collections.

Technical Discipline: An eye for detail regarding file setup, including resolution management, size rounding, and structured layer management.

WORKING STYLE

Personal Ideation: All initial ideas must stem from a personal creative standpoint - we use AI to accelerate production, not replace creative thinking. Ideas start with you; technology helps finish them.

Pace: A self-motivated designer capable of handling 2–3 bespoke client jobs per day without spillover.

Time Management: A disciplined approach to managing your own clock and keeping projects on track.

NICE TO HAVE

Procreate: Ability to use Procreate for rapid, clean sketching.

AI for Development: Experience using AI (e.g., Firefly, Scenario) as a tool for upscaling and refining artwork.

Design Experience: Previous experience designing for print, rugs or fabrics, or working as a graphic designer for an agency or brand.

WHAT WE OFFER

Mentorship: Direct guidance and regular reviews with our Design Director to support your professional growth.

Showroom Days: Collaborative time in our London showroom alongside the wider Deadgood team, balanced with remote flexibility.

Growth Potential: A clear pathway to transition from a part-time role into a full-time position.

Professional Development: Real-world experience in manufacturing, technical design, and commercial production.

Team Socials: Regular opportunities to connect with the wider Deadgood team.

Pension Scheme: Employer contributions to your retirement savings.

Carbon Neutral Work: We offset the entire carbon footprint of every Deadgood employee, covering personal travel, food, and home emissions.

Ecologi Partnership: We plant a tree for every product sold to support global biodiversity.
