Job Description
Do you love turning raw footage into something people stop scrolling for? Does a clean edit and a satisfying bit of motion design get you out of bed in the morning? Do you want to make beautiful content for some genuinely exciting brands? If yes, then we could have the perfect job for you.
Before we get into the specifics, let us tell you a bit about what we do and who we work with.
Grid Studios is a creative production company and photography studio based in Old Street, London. We have been running for nearly seven years and are best known for creating social and brand content for well-known names such as Batiste, Ribena, L’Oreal and PwC. While we create content across many sectors, we have made a real name for ourselves in hair and beauty, and we love it so much that we have built a studio specifically designed to capture this content perfectly. Our studio has six styling stations, a backwash you can get cameras around, over 1000 sqft of shoot space and a custom-designed lighting system that is perfectly colour-balanced no matter where you are in the space.
Our mission is to make high-end content creation accessible to everyone. We shoot a huge amount of content across our content days and on location, and we're increasingly being asked to do more with it, sharper edits, motion graphics, animation, and polished video for brands and corporate clients alike. That is where you come in.
As we grow, so does the volume and ambition of what we produce. We are looking for a mid-weight editor and animator to join our team, take ownership of edits from rushes to delivery, and bring motion design and animation in-house to lift the quality of everything we make.
Your objectives
- Edit high-quality video content across our hair, beauty, brand and corporate work.
- Bring motion design and animation in-house to elevate our output.
- Turn footage from our shoots and content days into polished social and campaign content.
- Support and help refine our video production pipeline.
- Deliver consistently to brief, on brand and on time, across multiple projects at once.
- Help us build and improve how our post-production team works as we scale.
Your responsibilities
The role will grow and develop as you do. We want you to enjoy your work and find it rewarding. Below is a list of the core responsibilities expected from the start.
- Editing across long-form and short-form. You will take projects from rushes to final delivery, including assembly, story, pacing, sound, and a clean colour pass for social, campaign, and corporate content.
- Motion graphics and animation: You will design and build motion graphics and animation to bring our content and our clients' brands to life.
- Social-first content: Much of our work is built for Instagram, TikTok and LinkedIn. You will craft platform-native edits, keep up with trends and turn things around quickly without dropping quality.
- Project and media management: You will manage your own projects and media, organise project files, maintain sensible version control and clean handovers, and deliver review-ready cuts via Frame.io, working closely with our creative and production team.
Nice to haves
Below is a list of nice-to-haves. They will not be expected in your role, but if they are areas you want to be involved in, we can let you explore them.
- Advanced colour grading in DaVinci Resolve.
- Sound design and audio mixing.
- On-set experience - shooting, lighting or directing content.
- Design skills across Photoshop and Illustrator for assets and graphics.
- Experience with AI tools
Your expertise
- 3+ years editing in an agency, studio or in-house environment, with a strong reel that shows it.
- Confident in Premiere Pro and/or DaVinci Resolve Studio.
- Strong After Effects skills for motion graphics and animation.
- A great eye for pacing, story and brand, and a high bar for finish.
- Comfortable juggling multiple projects and fast-turnaround social content without losing quality.
Compensation and information
- Permanent, full-time role.
- £34,000 – £40,000 per year, depending on experience.

- Gym membership.
- Hybrid working - minimum 3 days in the office over the week.
Start date: ASAP.
