Day Job is a creative studio headquartered in Los Angeles with around 20 full time employees. We conceptualize brands from the beginning, and launch them into the world. We work largely in consumer spaces, branding or rebranding for companies like Recess, Fly By Jing, David, Grindr, A24, and The BBC.
About the Role:
We’re a boutique design agency looking for a Copywriter. You’ll help define the voice of a wide range of brands by writing copy that is clear, original, and makes people have irrationally deep feelings for consumer products.
Sometimes the copy you write will have to be funny. Sometimes it will have to be weird. Sometimes it will have to be normal. It will be your responsibility to figure out what kind of words go where and why.
Key Responsibilities:
Concept taglines, web, and social copy
Develop brand voice and messaging
Brand naming based on creative briefs
Writing & copy editing for client presentations
Qualifications
Creative and lateral thinking to generate distinctive ideas
Big brain
Aversion to copy that is cliché, obvious, or phoned in
Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to navigate tricky briefs
Experience writing long-form and short-form copy
Attention to detail, grammar, spelling, and punctuation
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
Great time-management skills
Funny, serious, cool, good vibes

Compensation
$60-$110 per hour
Rate based on relevant work experience and proficiency.
