About the Role

You'll take ownership of the Creative Team's day-to-day operation: managing workflow, overseeing artwork and print production, maintaining quality standards, and ensuring deadlines and SLAs are consistently met. You'll build strong relationships with clients and suppliers, keep your team performing at their best, and bring calm, confident leadership to a busy, varied workload.

And because we value people who stay connected to the work, this is also a hands-on role. You'll contribute directly to design, artwork, and production — keeping your creative instincts sharp while leading from the front.

Key Responsibilities

• To plan and schedule each element of the production process for the Team to ensure timely and accurate completion of all tasks.

• To oversee the implementation of the publication schedules, ensuring all elements remain on course to meet agreed deadlines and that all work undertaken is produced according to the specific requirements and as thoroughly and as accurately as possible.

• Continuous monitoring with weekly & monthly reporting via KPI’s to ensure deadlines and SLAs are being consistently met. Ensuring appropriate solutions are implemented and communicated where needed if KPI’s fall below expected levels.

• To ensure the team displays an appropriate level of competence in all aspects of publication and artwork compilation and production.

• Lead contact for new and current third-party publications, maintaining excellent levels of customer service, ensuring that all requirements for each publication or artwork are completed to 100% customer satisfaction.

• Ensure the day-to-day workload is coordinated and planned efficiently and effectively via team briefings and rotas.

• To be fully conversant in the use of and have an appropriate level of competence in all the applications required in the daily operation of the department.

• Team management, escalating and communicating any issues to the leadership team as required.

• Maintain efficient and effective time management and planning processes.

• Continuously assess and implement improvements to processes and procedures to enhance and streamline business activity and ensure correct pricing structures are applied.

• To regularly assess and modify processes to ensure best practice is always achieved.

• Identify opportunities for business development.

• Provision of continual coaching and development of all team members.

• Evaluate emerging AI technologies and publishing software apps to optimize creative processes and operational efficiency.

• Help create an energised culture and environment to deliver success. Actively foster an inclusive, neuro-diverse team environment, providing tailored support to team members to ensure they can perform at their best.

• To liaise closely and provide support to the other members of the Commercial Operations Leadership team, where necessary to ensure continuity of service is maintained at all times.

• Ensure adherence to Company Policies and guidelines around customer and financial data handling in compliance with GDPR and law.

• To ensure the companies Health and Safety policy is adhered to.

What We're Looking For

• Fully conversant with Desktop Publishing applications for the creation of print and digital content.

• Strong organisational skills and ability to prioritise, multi-task and co-ordinate workloads and work under pressure to meet deadlines.

• This role needs to be operational with strong problem-solving skills, inquisitive and able to see beyond what’s currently in place and to spot potential risks and flaws in process and procedures.

• The role holder will have worked in a deadline driven environment.

• Having the ability to continually learn, take on feedback, try new things, adapt, grow and change with the business.

• Experience in leading a team with diverse needs and skills.

Benefits

• 25 days holiday + 8 bank holidays

• +1 day holiday per year of service (up to 28 days)

• Employee perks & discount platform

• Life assurance

• Employee Assistance Programme (EAP)

• Employer matched contributory pension scheme

• Subsidised corporate gym membership

• Annual company race days

• Regular eyesight tests
