Job Description

Polymath is an independent creative and strategic brand studio. Working globally, we deliver excellence for a range of exciting and diverse clients. We believe culture is everything. It is the defining force within any organisation and, when harnessed correctly, brands have the power to affect both cultural and business change to deliver truly incredible experiences.

We foster an environment where good people come together, so that ideas can thrive and great work can happen. We like to do things a little differently and work with curious clients and partners around the world to develop brands and experiences that shape culture.

The Role

Please note this role is UK based and candidates must already have the right to work in the UK. We are unable to offer visa sponsorship at this time.

We are looking for a Midweight Designer to join our growing team. This is a hands-on role, you will be across live projects from day one, taking briefs from concept through to final artwork and guidelines, and working closely with support from our wider design team. The work spans global sport, technology, film and television, so you will build brands and brand systems that reach large audiences and need to hold up everywhere they appear.

You will have the opportunity to truly be involved, working with a diverse range of clients from various industries, bringing your ideas and creativity to deliver stand-out projects and brand experiences that shape culture. In this role, your work is visible, your ideas are heard and there is real room to grow. You’ll be able to stretch your thinking into areas such as global sports, technology, film and television and more for stand-out clients. This is a unique role and a significant opportunity to make your mark, hone your craft and develop in a growing business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and Craft
  • Develop ideas from initial brief through to final execution, with support and direction from the wider team
  • Deliver design work across identity, print, digital and environmental applications, to a consistently high standard
  • Apply and extend existing brand systems accurately, keeping work on brand across every touchpoint
  • Develop moodboards, visual narratives, storyboards and concept presentations to communicate creative intent

Artwork and Production

  • Prepare artwork files for print and digital output, with a confident understanding of formats, colour spaces and production requirements
  • Support the production process, including checking proofs and preparing files for supply to printers and production partners
  • Support the build of brand guidelines documents, including layout, asset preparation and version control

Collaboration and Communication

  • Take briefs from our account management team, asking the right questions upfront so the work starts in the right place
  • Work closely with account management on a project and day-to-day, keeping them updated on progress and flagging anything that affects scope or timings. They will also brief you in on projects and review work with you through the process
  • Take feedback well and act on it quickly, including when direction changes at short notice
  • Closely collaborate with and learn from wider Senior design team

Organisation

  • Maintain clear, well structured files and asset libraries so that anyone on the team can pick up a project
  • Manage your own time across live projects, flagging pressure points early

  • A minimum of 4+ years of design experience
  • Strong working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Illustrator, InDesign and Photoshop
