As one of Cedar’s most innovative accounts, the Tesco team brings great food content to the nation. We’re looking for a creative Junior Designer to join our friendly and fast-paced design team on Tesco magazine, supporting on a mix of print projects while building the skills and confidence to take on your own briefs.
ABOUT THE TEAM
Our Art Directors and Designers work closely with the editorial team and clients, as well as photographers and food stylists, to create Britain’s most-read magazine. You’ll be surrounded by people who love food, care about their design craft and enjoy sharing ideas, learning and making brilliant work together.
THE ROLE
This is an entry-level opportunity where your potential and design ambition matter most. We’re looking for a strong creative eye, curiosity and a willingness to learn the craft of magazine design. You’ll support the team across day-to-day design and retouching tasks and develop the tools to progress towards owning your own briefs.
• Generating innovative layout design solutions across the magazine
• Preparing, artworking and supplying files for print and digital formats
• Working accurately to schedules
• Retouching images in Photoshop (training provided)
• Assisting in planning/creating shoot briefs, mood boards and styling notes
• Assisting with extra projects such as client presentations and pitches
• Staying up to date with design trends in publishing and beyond, bringing references and ideas into the team
SKILL REQUIREMENTS
• Creative Suite: InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects (training provided)
• Excellent ability to communicate verbally and present ideas with confidence
• Desire to learn new software, staying curious and up to date with emerging online trends
• High-performance behaviour, openly demonstrating a desire to be the best you can be
